Thanks for thinking of La Senda! We are honored that you would consider letting us develop and grow your child. As you look into opportunities, and hopefully encourage your child to get involved, take minute to read our "letter to the parents." Please note you must be 14 years old to work- developmental programs for those younger than 14 are not paid jobs.
We understand that La Senda may be your child’s first job and we’re excited to help them learn. We are committed to providing support and guidance so that they succeed. We want staff who personally want to work at La Senda (not just because their parents are encouraging it). Through the hiring process we are looking for evidence of independence and responsibility.
Here are a few observations we’ve made over the years that’s in everyone’s best interest:

Here are a few observations we’ve made over the years that’s in everyone’s best interest:
- Provide encouragement and support but don't micromanage.
- Let them fill out their own job application. We would rather see an imperfect application than a parent written application.
- Have them come to a job interview alone (maybe minus transportation).
- Prepare them for an interview. You probably have lots of great advice on this like! Make eye contact, act professional, and ask good questions. Practice a mock interview with them!
- Ask them for their work schedule- don't ask their boss. We will do our best to plan shifts far in advance. Help them build planning skills to coordinate rides and be prepared for work.
- Give them advice. Offer assistance with filling out paperwork or learning how payroll works. You can help us educate them! But, if a question does arise, we want them to be the ones to reach out to us.
