What we offer:
In this program, we help prepare students for what to expect going into a Spanish immersion kindergarten class. We teach students what to do when they don’t understand the teacher, how to communicate with basic Spanish phrases, and most importantly we show kids how much fun it is to learn Spanish! This class is perfect for deciding if Spanish immersion is right for your child or for kids who are apprehensive about Spanish kindergarten. This class is taught with both English and Spanish instruction.
|
This specialized class is designed to provide additional help for young learners who are in Spanish immersion programs and want to enhance their reading, writing, and literacy skills beyond their regular schoolwork. Our focus is on fostering a deeper understanding of language arts in Spanish, building confidence, and achieving academic excellence.
|
Spanish Club is designed specifically for beginners who want to experience the joy of speaking Spanish. Through songs, games, and creative activities, students will grow their Spanish skills in a community-centered and supportive setting. This class is taught with both English and Spanish instruction.

What safety and security procedures do you have?
For classes held at Headquarters, instructors will check your students in and out! All adults must be listed as an authorized pick-up in your UltraCamp account.
What should I do if my student is going to miss a class?
Contact the class instructor! It is best to reach out to the instructor directly, but you can also text our La Senda number, 612-314-6063.
How do instructors handle behavior issues?
Instructors work diligently to set up clear expectations and routines at the beginning of the year. This provides students with structure so that they know what is right and wrong in the class. If a student is unable to meet the class expectations, an instructor will reach out to you to make a plan. We want all students to associate Spanish with fun. We don't want to create a rigid environment, but we also don’t want the other students to be negatively affected by a particular student's behavior. If the student's family, the instructor, and the supervisor are unable to reach a successful solution, a student can be dismissed from class for the following reasons: threatening the safety of others, repeated use of inappropriate language, possession of a harmful object, inability to stay in the classroom.
What do I do if I am running late to pick my student up?
Please reach out to the instructor if you are running late! Instructors will contact you if you haven't arrived after 5 minutes past the end of class. After 5 occurrences of being 5+ min late, a supervisor will reach out to you. Instructors are only paid for instructional time- we want to respect their time and do not want to put them in a situation where they are left to care for a student for prolonged time after the end of class. That being said, we understand that there will be times when things happen! Instructors will never leave a student who hasn't been picked up.

I started learning Spanish in kindergarten at a school in Alexandria, VA. I moved to Minnetonka and I have been in the immersion program for 10 years. I've worked as a camp counselor and director here at La Senda Spanish Camp for 2 years now. I'm so excited to get to know your kids and have a great time learning Spanish together this year!
